CLOSEUP May 2021: North American Studios #3
The North American Studios sessions are dedicated to North American-based designers, makers, and studios. In this session, we introduce you to New York-based studios, Jill Malek and Keep.
Jill Malek is a design studio that creates wallcoverings, rugs and textiles for the interior design and architecture community. Inspired by the fluid forms found both in natural and urban landscapes, the studio is a pioneer in the use of dimensional materials in commercial wallcovering, raising the industry’s bar by creating transformative products that promote wellness and illustrate expressive forms in nature.
KEEP preserves handmade craft through the production of its own line of handblown glass lighting and objects, as well as custom fabrication for designers, artists and architects. For more than 20 years, founders Susan Spiranovich and Adam Holtzinger have shared their glass experience with the creative community to further glass tradition.
KEEP focuses on using traditional glassmaking techniques to produce contemporary lighting and objects. Every object is designed and handmade by Spiranovich and Holtzinger in Brooklyn, NY.
KEEP provides high-level glass fabrication services to designers, artists and architects. Their vast experience with the material and great attention to detail make them a highly sought-after studio to work with.
