Lighting—it’ll make or break a space and it’s one of the best ways to bring a bit of personality into an interior environment. Check out some of our favorite new statement lighting designs—from blown glass embedded with real flowers to pendants inspired by serpentine dance movements.
Kadur Drizzle
Drawing inspiration from summer rain showers, the Kadur Drizzle collection by Shakúff is made up of concentric glass orbs that evoke the feeling of getting caught in the rain. The center orb of each pendant is filled with drizzled glass fibers, like light rain falling in fine drops, with the outer orb forming a pristine glass bubble around the first.
Herbarium
Preserving the spirit of a Bohemian meadow, the Herbarium lighting series, designed by Maria Culenove for Lasvit, actually conserves picked tree branches, flowers, and pieces of greenery within the glass. While available in nine standardized variations, each installation is unique and can be ordered to any dimension.
Benedict Bloom
The Bloom Chandelier by Trella suspends five Benedict light assemblies in an organic cluster held by hand rolled brass stems. Available in all Trella finishes the Benedict Bloom Chandelier is able to make a playful yet elegant statement.
Loïe
The Loïe collection of suspended pendant fixtures by Mydriaz is inspired by serpentine dance movements and the twirling veil of the famous Loïe Fuller. Available in green and copper, Mydriaz’s lighting designs combine traditional manufacturing methods with contemporary techniques.
Balance
Balance by Oblure plays with the concept of time—everything is in motion—and the impossible position of the orbs is an expression of the fragility of existence. The light is made from of a pair of glowing orbs poised between two slanted steel boards. The metal spheres seen on both sides have just the right density to counterweight the opposite part of the lamps’ weight.
