
Following a series of cancellations and postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Milan’s famous design week has finally returned this September 5-10, 2021. Occuring simultaneously with Supersalone, the event has once again drawn thousands of visitors to the the Northern Italian city in hopes of seeing first-hand the newest and most innovative design on the market.

For Milan Design Week, cc-tapis opened their doors to a larger and refreshed showroom—displaying the new creativity of Patricia Urquiola, Muller Van Severen, and Edoardo Piermattei.
Nilufar Depot
Nina Yashar believes in valuing design to tell stories. She founded Nilufar Gallery in Milan in 1979. Originally located in via Bigli and specialized in antique carpets, a passion she inherited from her Iranian parents, the Gallery soon launched a series of pioneering shows. This year during design week, Andrés Reisinger presented ‘odyssey’, a furniture collection configured around the union between physical and digital.
Audi City Lab x Marcel Wanders
D Studio
At the start of Milan Design week, Design Holding debuted D Studio Milan, a new furniture design and lighting showroom showcasing brands B&B Italia, Maxalto, Azucena, Arclinea, Flos, and Louis Poulsen. The brainchild of Massimiliano Locatelli and Piero Lissoni, D Studio is located on Milan’s popular Via Durini in the historic former store of B&B Italia.
Lapalma for Architects
Lapalma for Architects Milan is a space dedicated to architects and interior designers who want to customize their projects with Lapalma furniture. The fluid space features a Materials Lab and Tech Lab and is designed to showcase Lapalma collections integrated together to create lounge and office environments. During design week, Lapalma welcomed visitors to tour the space.
Edra
Edra, in collaboration with Vago Forniture, opens its new store in Milan on the “piano nobile” of Palazzo Durini Caproni di Taliedo. Edra collection lives in complete harmony with the halls and galleries of the prestigious Palazzo, open to the public for the first time.
Rossana Orlandi
Guiltless Plastic at the Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci is Rossana Orlandi’s thrilling exploration of the material’s potential for recycling and upcycling in design.
Cassina Universe
Cassina presented the 2021 Collection in the welcoming and eclectic atmospheres of three apartments in the showroom in via Durini. A complete proposal for all areas of the home, from the living and dining rooms to the bedroom and outdoors, where the company’s icons dialogue with new pieces designed by the architects and designers Michael Anastassiades, Jeffrey Bernett, Philippe Starck and Cassina’s Art Director Patricia Urquiola.
