Molly Beth Kidd, the creative force behind Molly Kidd Studio, embarked on her design career in 2016 with the founding of a successful design firm. After years of pioneering the industry with her unique vision, she launched Molly Kidd Studios in 2024 to fully embrace her creative aspirations. With a background as a blogger and florist, Molly’s transition to interior design was both natural and groundbreaking, earning her a reputation for transforming secluded locations and serving a-list clientele.

Molly Kidd is trailblazing the design industry by preserving history with soulful remodels, juxtaposing old age and innovation with ground-up new builds, and crafting a brand where ingenuous home and lifestyle collide. When she’s not running her studio, she is spending time at her Oregon Country House with her family and loved ones.

As a kid, what did you answer when asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Either a professional soccer player or an interior designer!

How would you describe your design philosophy? My design ethos is both deeply inspired by the native materiality and palette of the Pacific Northwest and guided by the bespoke and versatile styles of European culture. This harmonious blend of influences shapes our approach, allowing us to create spaces that evoke emotion and always greet you with the feeling of invitation.

Give us some context about where you live: How long you’ve been there and how does it influence your work? I live in Salem, Oregon which is in the Willamette Valley. It’s known for its wineries; we harvest amazing pinot noir wines here! The Willamette Valley is beautiful, with lots of greenery and warm colors. I live an hour from the mountains and an hour from the ocean. Living here influences my work in terms of the materials I source and the color palettes I draw from.

Was there a moment when you realized you wanted to be a designer? If so, what was it? When I was 10, I asked for a new duvet cover for my birthday, because I wanted to redecorate my room. That was the start of my love for design.

Which of your projects or products are you most proud of? Why? I can’t pick just one! All of them for different reasons, it’s like choosing a favorite child. I love different aspects of each project.

What’s now? I’m working on a few new exciting homes across the country, and a few other things I can’t discuss at the moment!

What’s next? I am headed to London in January for Design Destination. I’m really looking forward to that.

Last question! What is your favorite movie and who is your favorite musical artist or band? You’ve Got Mail, and Leon Bridges!
