Chief Executive OfficerThe Third Office"Pascale Sablan, FAIA, NOMAC, LEED AP, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Third Office, a strategic advisory practice operating at the intersection of design, leadership, and execution. With over 19 years of experience, she has led and contributed to internationally recognized projects that shape cities through cultural infrastructure, civic investment, and community-centered design.
Pascale is the 315th living African American woman registered architect in the United States and is widely recognized as an activist architect advancing the profession through visibility, advocacy, and action. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Beyond the Built Environment, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing inequities in architecture by elevating the work of women and designers of color globally.
Prior to founding The Third Office, Pascale served as Chief Executive Officer of the New York Studio at Adjaye Associates, where she led work across the Americas. Her leadership bridged design excellence with business strategy, overseeing complex projects while guiding teams, operations, and client relationships at an international scale.
Her work has been featured in The New York Times, and Forbes described her as “the powerhouse woman actively changing history.” She has also been recognized by Oprah’s Future Rising platform as a Black trailblazer advancing the world forward.
Pascale currently serves on the International Union of Architects Professional Practice Commission and is the Immediate Past President of the National Organization of Minority Architects, where she was the fifth woman to lead the organization in its 52-year history.
Her honors include the 2025 Presidential Medal for Distinguished Service from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB), the Architectural League of New York Emerging Voices Award, and the 2021 AIA Whitney M. Young Jr. Award. She has been elevated to the AIA College of Fellows as the youngest African American to receive this distinction in the organization’s 167-year history.
Pascale has lectured at colleges and universities across the country and at cultural institutions including the United Nations and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.
She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute and a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University."
